The original 1973 Ford Falcon XB from the Mad Max movies is one of the most iconic and recognizable cars in cinema history. It was originally a white 351 cu in (5.8 L) Australian built 1973 Ford Falcon XB GT Hardtop, but was heavily modified by Graf-X International to become the Pursuit Special seen in the films.

Some of the modifications included:

  • A roll cage
  • A variety of lights, including spotlights, fog lights, and brake lights
  • A custom exhaust system with twin tailpipes
  • A variety of performance modifications, including a high-performance engine, a limited-slip differential, and upgraded suspension

The Pursuit Special was driven by Max Rockatansky (Mel Gibson) in the first two Mad Max films, and it became an instantly recognizable symbol of the post-apocalyptic world of the films. It was also featured in the 2015 film Mad Max: Fury Road, where it was modified into a more rugged and off-road capable vehicle called the Razor Cola.
