Estre and Vanthoor were the reigning WEC champions, while Australian Matt Campbell was an accomplished Porsche factory driver and endurance specialist. The 963 is a cutting-edge LMDh prototype, combining a 4.6-liter twin-turbo V8 with a standardized hybrid system that drives the front axle under certain conditions, producing around 695 hp. Its carbon-fiber chassis, sophisticated aerodynamics, and hybrid all-wheel-drive capability make it very different from conventional GT racers. What made the #6 especially remarkable at Le Mans was its incredible recovery: after being disqualified from qualifying and starting last in the Hypercar field, it charged through the pack and fought for victory until the final lap, ultimately missing the win by only 14 seconds.
