Graham Hill, one of Formula 1’s all‑time greats and famously dubbed “Mr. Monaco,” drove the Lotus 49B No. 1 to victory at the 1969 Monaco Grand Prix on May 18, 1969, at the tight, twisty Circuit de Monaco. Hill’s win in the Lotus‑Ford marked his fifth and final Monaco triumph and was also his last World Championship race victory before his passing in 1975.
